Measuring Reliable Internet Connectivity Among Families with Children: Secondary Analysis of a US National Survey

Measuring Reliable Internet Connectivity Among Families with Children: Secondary Analysis of a US National Survey

Reliable internet connectivity might be an important dimension for improving family engagement in pediatric telehealth care. Accurately measuring reliable internet connectivity among families with children younger than 18 years is crucial, as parents play a key role in making medical decisions, directly impacting the accessibility of pediatric digital health care.

Mixed Reality–Based Physical Therapy in Older Adults With Sarcopenia: Preliminary Randomized Controlled Trial

Mixed Reality–Based Physical Therapy in Older Adults With Sarcopenia: Preliminary Randomized Controlled Trial

An ultrasound probe (Bionet, Seoul, Republic of Korea) was used to obtain images of the rectus femoris muscle. All 2 D ultrasound imaging acquisitions were acquired using an ultrasonographic system equipped with a single-sweep volumetric transducer. The apparatus had a linear vascular probe with a bandwidth of 3.3‐8.0 MHz, an aperture of 2.9 cm, and a maximum scanning depth of 8 cm, in addition to a phased array cardiac probe with a bandwidth of 1.7‐3.8 MHz and a field of view of 70° [16].

Assessing Clinical Impressions of Early Warning Score Integration With the Rapid Response Team: Protocol for a Prospective Cohort Study

Assessing Clinical Impressions of Early Warning Score Integration With the Rapid Response Team: Protocol for a Prospective Cohort Study

In contrast to relying solely on a single vital sign for cues of deterioration, OBS Medical’s Visensia Safety Index (VSI) is an EWS that uses physiological monitoring software and machine learning to identify the likelihood of deterioration that may lead to cardiac or respiratory arrest [3,5].

Patient Perspectives on Artificial Intelligence in Health Care: Focus Group Study for Diagnostic Communication and Tool Implementation

Patient Perspectives on Artificial Intelligence in Health Care: Focus Group Study for Diagnostic Communication and Tool Implementation

Recognizing the varying levels of participant familiarity with AI, the session began with an activity explicitly designed to surface and build a foundational understanding. This included group discussion of everyday AI examples (eg, navigation apps and virtual assistants) to ensure shared baseline knowledge before exploring health care–specific applications. We did not formally assess or quantify participants’ previous knowledge of AI or their digital literacy.

Clinical Performance and Communication Skills of ChatGPT Versus Physicians in Emergency Medicine: Simulated Patient Study

Clinical Performance and Communication Skills of ChatGPT Versus Physicians in Emergency Medicine: Simulated Patient Study

Emergency medicine is characterized by an urgent need for rapid diagnosis and immediate treatment. The high patient load and strict time constraints in emergency departments increase the risk of essential clinical information being overlooked or misinterpreted, including symptom presentation and diagnostic test results [6,7]. In addition, extended shifts, often spanning 24 hours, contribute to clinician fatigue and the risk of human error.

A Virtual Reality Force Control Training System on Brain Activation: Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) Study

A Virtual Reality Force Control Training System on Brain Activation: Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) Study

The second task involves picking up an interactive fork, selecting the appropriate food, and feeding it to the baby. In the wo FC system, the user simply performs a thumb-index finger opposition to pick up the fork. In contrast, the w FC system is designed with the same thumb-index finger opposition in wo FC system but with an additional isometric pinch contraction at 70 (SD 10%) maximum voluntary contraction (MVC), a value derived from a prior pilot study.

Predicting Drug–Side Effect Relationships From Parametric Knowledge Embedded in Biomedical BERT Models: Methodological Study With a Natural Language Processing Approach

Predicting Drug–Side Effect Relationships From Parametric Knowledge Embedded in Biomedical BERT Models: Methodological Study With a Natural Language Processing Approach

Furthermore, we examine whether replacing the Word2 Vec model with a BERT-based model leads to an actual improvement in ADR prediction accuracy, thus validating the performance advantages of context-dependent language models. Figure 1 presents an overview of this study and illustrates the overall research flow from data collection to validation. System overview: the predictive performance of drug-side effect relationships was evaluated using area under the curve.

COVID-19–Relevant Insights Into the Elevated Risk of Accidental Injuries in Survivors of SARS and Their Relatives in Taiwan: Retrospective Cohort Study

COVID-19–Relevant Insights Into the Elevated Risk of Accidental Injuries in Survivors of SARS and Their Relatives in Taiwan: Retrospective Cohort Study

An outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) caused by a novel coronavirus severely affected Taiwan in 2003 [1], with the first confirmed diagnosis of SARS on February 25, 2003, and the last diagnosis on June 15, 2003. Through this endemic outbreak, there were 346 patients diagnosed with SARS, and 37 died among these patients [2], and there were also SARS outbreaks in China, Singapore, and Toronto, Canada, at about the same time [2].

Cognitive Training Mobile Apps for Older Adults With Cognitive Impairment: App Store Search and Quality Evaluation

Cognitive Training Mobile Apps for Older Adults With Cognitive Impairment: App Store Search and Quality Evaluation

Aging is the primary risk factor for dementia, which affects an estimated 50 million individuals worldwide, with projections reaching 152 million by 2050 [1]. Age-related processes, including neurofibrillary tangles, amyloid-beta plaque deposition, and cerebrovascular changes, contribute to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer disease and other dementias [2]. Therefore, efforts to address cognitive decline in older adults are critical to mitigating the growing global burden of dementia.
