Challenges and Opportunities of the Human-Centered Design Approach: Case Study Development of an Assistive Device for the Navigation of Persons With Visual Impairment

Challenges and Opportunities of the Human-Centered Design Approach: Case Study Development of an Assistive Device for the Navigation of Persons With Visual Impairment

This quote summarizes security risks linked to using technology in the streets: I had a phone stolen because I was listening to the app to find out which route was coming. The complete results reporting on users’ experiences and expectations on AT are reported in a previous study by Chavarria Varon et al [15]. Participants prioritized technology that supported social connection and enabled greater bodily mobility.

Assessing the Time for Living and Caring (TLC) Study: Mixed-Methods Feasibility Study of a Web-Based Caregiver Intervention to Improve Respite

Reasons for future use varied, and in fact, many participants pointed to the variety of uses they got from the app, as shown by one participant who stated, “I like to have a framework to help me refocus from what my daily routine is. I like the resources section. I feel like it would be nice to go back in and once again review those resources. With time, some types of respite change and new ideas are welcomed.”

Implementation of Clinical Practice Guidelines to Prevent Cervical Cancer: Mixed Methods Study

Implementation of Clinical Practice Guidelines to Prevent Cervical Cancer: Mixed Methods Study

I have colleagues who have not been able to do much in their communities; there is a need for regular training and updates on the SOGON guidelines. Some challenges are also socioeconomic conditions, for which I believe there is a need for more tailored approaches than the guidelines provided. Gynecologists emphasized the importance of adapting the guidelines for high-risk groups, such as women with a family history of cervical cancer or those living with HIV.

Optimizing and Testing an Individualized and Adaptive Physical Activity Digital Health Intervention: Protocol for a Control Optimization Trial Embedded Within a Randomized Controlled Trial

Optimizing and Testing an Individualized and Adaptive Physical Activity Digital Health Intervention: Protocol for a Control Optimization Trial Embedded Within a Randomized Controlled Trial

On each day of the closed-loop intervention, denoted by k, mixed-integer quadratic programming is used to make personalized intervention decisions by solving the optimization problem in equation 2 subject to the logical and categorical constraints presented in equation 3 and the following input and output constraints: ymin – Ψk + j ≤ yk + j ≤ ymax + Ψk + j, j=1,...p umin ≤ uk + i ≤ umax, i=0,1,...m-1 Δumin ≤ Δuk + i ≤ Δumax, i=0,1,...m-1 Ψk + J ≥ 0, j=1,...p Variations in the control strategies are implemented

Exploring the Utility of Digital Voice Assistants for Primary Care Patients, Including Those With Physical and Visual Disabilities: Cross-Sectional Study

Exploring the Utility of Digital Voice Assistants for Primary Care Patients, Including Those With Physical and Visual Disabilities: Cross-Sectional Study

Our study was registered under a self-exemption process at the University of Michigan, classified under EXEMPTION 2 (i) and 2 (ii) as described in 45 CFR 46.104(d)(IRBMED HUM00156811). Participants were handed an information sheet outlining the risks and benefits of the study before completing the survey. All study materials were stored in locked file cabinets in the locked office of the principal investigator.
