This also allowed us to increase access and engage eligible patients with a limited ability to attend in-person visits due to barriers such as work, household circumstances, and transportation [33].
Inclusion criteria were a diagnosis of AF, ownership of a smartphone (i Phone 5 or newer), residency in the United States, and proficiency in English.
Clinicians were recruited using flyers and emails with information regarding the study.

In “Strategies for the Successful Implementation of a Novel i Phone Loaner System (i Share) in m Health Interventions: Prospective Study” (JMIR Mhealth Uhealth 2019;7(12):e16391) the authors noted two errors.
In the Results section of the originally published paper, the first paragraph of the subsection “Evaluation of Process Outcomes” included incorrect numerators and denominators in the statistical values introduced during the copyediting process.

Digital Health Interventions for Cardiac Rehabilitation: Systematic Literature Review
A total of 22 studies (22/31, 71%) were randomized controlled trials. Of the 31 studies, 15 (15/31, 48%) were standalone digital CR interventions. The study quality was variable, with 23 studies (23/31, 74%) having a good quality, 7 (7/31, 23%) having a fair quality, and 1 (1/31, 3%) having a poor quality, according to the criteria established by the NIH: NHLBI Quality Assessment Tools (Multimedia Appendix 5).

AF was confirmed by a 12-lead ECG performed minutes prior to HR data collection. Participants wore a first-generation Apple Watch (model A1554), which was provided by the study team for the duration of data collection. The same device was used for all participants and was cleaned between use with a hospital-grade disinfectant.

In the Results section, we characterize a statistically significant association found in the desired direction between user engagement and the outcome of interest (ie, a positive association between user engagement and PA or a negative association between user engagement and weight) as a positive finding. We also label a nonstatistically significant association in the expected direction, no association, or an association in the opposite direction than expected as a negative finding.

Without experience or guidance regarding the best approach to operationalize a smartphone loaner program for a clinical research study, we developed the program iteratively. With each iteration came an increased financial investment, often resulting in a greater-than-anticipated improvement in our processes. Table 1 provides a summary of our protocol’s evolution.

For example, Blue Star by Well Doc, a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared m Health intervention for patients with type 2 diabetes, demonstrated a significantly lower mean decrease in hemoglobin A1c over 1 year compared with the usual care group [3]. Similarly, a 2016 systematic review and meta-analysis found that across 27 studies, the m Health group compared with the usual care group had increased adherence to medical therapy and ability to reach blood pressure and exercise goals [1].
