Characterizing Real-World Implementation of Consumer Wearables for the Detection of Undiagnosed Atrial Fibrillation in Clinical Practice: Targeted Literature Review

Characterizing Real-World Implementation of Consumer Wearables for the Detection of Undiagnosed Atrial Fibrillation in Clinical Practice: Targeted Literature Review

Two studies focused on AF surveyed specific populations, with one study conducted at an academic medical center that stratified survey participants by those diagnosed with AF (n=327) and those at risk of AF (n=895), defined as being aged ≥65 years with a CHA2 DS2-VASc score of >2 [45]. The other study was conducted among patients with AF by a patient advocacy organization (N=763) [46].

Telehealth Impact in Frontier Critical Access Hospitals: Mixed Methods Evaluation

We compared the telehealth service use patterns among the participating CAHs (n=8 hospitals) with those of all other CAHs in Montana, Nevada, and North Dakota that did not participate in the demonstration and were also billed for telehealth services during the demonstration period (n=38 hospitals).

Use of Telecommunication and Diabetes-Related Technologies in Older Adults With Type 1 Diabetes During a Time of Sudden Isolation: Mixed Methods Study

Descriptive statistics for demographic and clinical data are reported as number (n) and percentage (%) of the cohort for categorical variables. For continuous variables, data are reported as mean (SD) for data with normal distributions and as median (IQR) for data with nonnormal distributions. SAS software (version 9.4; SAS Institute) was used for 2-tailed Student t tests for the analysis of CGM metrics. A P value of ≤.05 was considered statistically significant.

Factors Influencing Telehealth Implementation and Use in Frontier Critical Access Hospitals: Qualitative Study

Factors Influencing Telehealth Implementation and Use in Frontier Critical Access Hospitals: Qualitative Study

Furthermore, this work focuses on a small number of participating CAHs (n=8) in three states. Each of these CAHs was in a designated frontier area; therefore, the population was less dense than is generally found in rural areas. Each CAH has different internal and community resources available that may affect the successful implementation of telehealth. In addition, all of the CAHs were in the western part of the country. These factors may impact generalizability to other rural areas.
