The Impact of Physical Activity Intensity on the Dynamic Progression of Cardiometabolic Multimorbidity: Prospective Cohort Study Using UK Biobank Data

In line with the study by Wang et al [32], we also found significant interactions of current or previous smoking status and PA intensity with all-cause mortality. These differences might be caused by the different models used in this study. Instead of traditional Cox proportional hazard models used in previous studies, this study used the multistate models, which introduced a competing risk for all-cause mortality and could more validly show the transitions from free of CMD to mortality.
