Cost-Effectiveness Analysis of a Machine Learning–Based eHealth System to Predict and Reduce Emergency Department Visits and Unscheduled Hospitalizations of Older People Living at Home: Retrospective Study

Cost-Effectiveness Analysis of a Machine Learning–Based eHealth System to Predict and Reduce Emergency Department Visits and Unscheduled Hospitalizations of Older People Living at Home: Retrospective Study

In France, over 13.4 million people are aged 65 years or older, representing 20% of the French population. This proportion has increased by 4% in 20 years [1]. With aging and frailty, the risk of unplanned hospitalizations is increased. Studies show that in France, older adults living at home represent 13% of the population that is hospitalized at least once a year, compared to 6% for the general population [2,3].

Understanding Problematic Smartphone and Social Media Use Among Adults in France: Cross-Sectional Survey Study

Understanding Problematic Smartphone and Social Media Use Among Adults in France: Cross-Sectional Survey Study

The proliferation of screens is a relatively recent phenomenon, with the number of smartphone users in France estimated to have reached 55.88 million in 2023, marking a doubling since 2013 [1]. Screen selection is often dictated by various contexts, including sedentary lifestyles, mobility, and personal or professional use. Consequently, the time spent on screens, known as screen time, has witnessed a steady increase over the years.

A Digital Program for Daily Life Management With Endometriosis: Pilot Cohort Study on Symptoms and Quality of Life Among Participants

A Digital Program for Daily Life Management With Endometriosis: Pilot Cohort Study on Symptoms and Quality of Life Among Participants

The School of Endo digital program was developed and made available in France to help women with endometriosis after their diagnosis. This cohort study was designed to measure the impact of a digital health program on the symptoms and QOL levels of women with endometriosis. The study also aimed to provide insights into the value of a digital program for the day-to-day management of endometriosis and to address the lack of real-life data studies for digital support in endometriosis.

Codeveloping an Online Resource for People Bereaved by Suicide: Mixed Methods User-Centered Study

Codeveloping an Online Resource for People Bereaved by Suicide: Mixed Methods User-Centered Study

In France, the suicide rate has been on a downward trajectory for more than 30 years, although it remains higher than the global and European averages [7]. In 2014, the government introduced a national suicide prevention strategy, which has yielded encouraging outcomes. However, the resources available to those who have lost a loved one to suicide remain limited, prompting the exploration of digital resources as a potential avenue for supporting suicide survivors in France.

Postimplementation Evaluation in Assisted Living Facilities of an eHealth Medical Device Developed to Predict and Avoid Unplanned Hospitalizations: Pragmatic Trial

Postimplementation Evaluation in Assisted Living Facilities of an eHealth Medical Device Developed to Predict and Avoid Unplanned Hospitalizations: Pragmatic Trial

The aging population is increasing at an unprecedented rate, which is a major issue for many developed countries, particularly France [1,2]. The global population aged over 60 years is predicted to increase more than 4-fold by 2050, reaching 2 billion, an increase from its current figure of 605 million, and it will then account for 16% of the world’s total population [3]. This demographic shift represents a significant challenge for health care systems and public policies.

Health Care Resource Use and Total Mortality After Hospital Admission for Severe COVID-19 Infections During the Initial Pandemic Wave in France: Descriptive Study

Health Care Resource Use and Total Mortality After Hospital Admission for Severe COVID-19 Infections During the Initial Pandemic Wave in France: Descriptive Study

In France, more than 200,000 patients have been hospitalized for severe COVID-19 infections in 2020, and 20% of them deceased [3]. Hospitalized patients with COVID-19 generated a high level of health care resource use (HRU) during hospitalization, with more than one-third of inpatients also requiring specific health care services after discharge [4].

Updated Surveillance Metrics and History of the COVID-19 Pandemic (2020-2023) in Europe: Longitudinal Trend Analysis

The first European [6] case of COVID-19 was reported in France on January 24, 2020, with additional cases reported in Germany and Finland soon afterward [7,8]. Our research team conducted an analysis of the pandemic in Europe 1 year into the pandemic [9]; this study provides 2 additional years of updated surveillance and analysis for the region.

Evaluation of an e-Learning Program for Community Pharmacists for Dispensing Emicizumab (Hemlibra) in France: Nationwide Cross-Sectional Study

The transition of care has typically been implemented in France for patients with hemophilia A with or without inhibitors. This disease is a rare bleeding disorder whose treatment relies on factor VIII injections or bypass agents. Chronic treatment for hemophilia A has been available only in French hospital pharmacies, and monthly dispensing was conditional on reimbursement of these drugs [10].
