Current treatment recommendations for psychosis include antipsychotic medications, psychosocial support, and psychological treatment, specifically, cognitive behavioral therapy for psychosis (CBTp) [11-13]. Unfortunately, all currently available treatments are only moderately effective. First, the efficacy of antipsychotic medication for the treatment of positive symptoms of psychosis is not optimal.

Behavioral Therapy–Based Digital Interventions for Treating Osteoarthritis: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Recent patient-centered guideline updates advocate for the implementation of rehabilitation interventions, including exercise therapy and educational programs as recommended nonpharmacological and nonsurgical treatment options [6,7]. These guidelines place a strong emphasis on the role of physical exercise, self-efficacy, and self-management strategies in the rehabilitation process for individuals with OA [8,9].

Assessing the Data Quality Dimensions of Partial and Complete Mastectomy Cohorts in the All of Us Research Program: Cross-Sectional Study

A recent systematic review found that patients’ choice of surgical treatment was multifaceted. Some factors that were associated with patients choosing a mastectomy over BCT were related to tumor characteristics and pathology. Others were sociodemographic or individual belief factors, such as body image, aversion to radiation, and physician preference [9]. In a prospective study of 180 patients, surgeons’ preference was the strongest predictor of surgical treatment [10].

Generative AI–Enabled Therapy Support Tool for Improved Clinical Outcomes and Patient Engagement in Group Therapy: Real-World Observational Study

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) has been shown to be a highly effective treatment for depression and anxiety disorders [4-6] and is the first line of treatment for these conditions in many therapy guidelines worldwide [7,8]. Nonetheless, CBT does not benefit everyone. In fact, a recent meta-analysis of 409 trials reported that 58% of patients do not respond to treatment [5]. Several reasons for unsuccessful therapy have been identified.

Furthermore, meta-analyses often fail to adequately consider important demographic factors and subgroup analyses, as evidenced by a recent overview of systematic reviews on digital technologies in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease where only 1 out of 30 reviews included age-based subgroup analysis, despite the potential impact of such factors on treatment outcomes and clinical applicability [4].
