All significance tests were 2-tailed, and P≤.05 was considered statistically significant. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS statistics software, version 27. This study was registered in the Clinical Trials.gov database (NCT03507335). The study design was approved by Research Ethics Committee of the Northern Savo Hospital District (347/2018). A total of 654 patients were assessed for eligibility.

In comparison with the control group, AF patients were older (mean 77, SD 10 years vs mean 68, SD 16 years; P Patient demographics. a AF: atrial fibrillation. In the analysis of heart belt ECG data (all subjects), 2707 hours (2707.44/3416.81, 79.24%) of visual analysis and 2748 hours (2747.73/3416.81, 80.42%) of automatic analysis were deemed interpretable.
